GBWN — Our Purpose
As more and more people populate the Great Basin, more and more water providers and developers consider tapping ground water to supply new cities and developments. This intense pressure from population growth has created a climate for natural resource exploitation which threatens a balance between human and natural uses of the Great Basin's limited water resources.

The costs for all are great:
  • Rural communities' future
  • Taxpayers footing the bill for ill-conceived and under estimated pipeline projects
  • Permanent damage to fragile watersheds
  • Losing wildlife habitat and the Special Places of the Great Basin
  • Communication, dialogue, common sense ground water reforms, urban and agricultural conservation measures and pure old fashioned political pressure are what is needed.

We need you. Stay informed and active, by joining us at Great Basin Water Network. By staying abreast of all the Great Basin water issues you can help us create an effective network of change and protection.
